Biographical history

Joseph Fillingham was a Methodist minister at Grafton, NSW, who also traveled the Maitland circuit. He was born and raised in York, and married Eliza Rebecca Orton in 1855. He died of consumption (tuberculosis).

Bible (published 1851) was given to Joseph Fillingham on his ordination at York Street Chapel Sydney on 24th January 1855. The other, with prayer book but missing title page, was given to Mrs Fillingham in appreciation of her ministry in a Sunday School in Tasmania, dated 1863.
