The tray was made by a patient of Liverpool Hospital, out of wood from the staircase. The hospital building was previously Moore College and Thomas Moore's residence.

Not dated but refers to his illness and to recent arrangements made for him to live outside of Sydney. This would put the date of it's creation at approximately 1906. Discussing past year at the college, the progress of students, his health problems, and the problem of obtaining candidates for Holy Orders, particularly for the Sydney Diocese. Mentions also the need to bring the college chapel from Liverpool to the new site at Newtown.

Attached to the letter was the original letter to Rev. Cakebread, the organizer of the reunion, from Harts Ltd, presenting the proposed menu for the reunion luncheon.
