Letter from John Langley, Bishop of Bendigo

Advising Jones that he had been appointed as a delegate of the Bendigo Diocese to the Pan Anglican Congress. Discusses the upcoming visit by Mr Inglewood, an Evangelical minister, and the (unlikely) possibility of granting Mr Inglewood a provisional licence for the duration of his visit.

Letter from E. Kilburn Scott, Yorkshire Society of NSW

Invites Jones to join the Yorkshire Society of NSW, giving the date and place of the next meeting. Discusses his family and friends possibly known to Jones. The attached application form has been completed in the hand of E. Kilburn Scott.

Letter from William Carey Ward, St Columb's Village, Hawthorn

Arguing against Jones' thoughts of returning to England, pointing out the improvements in his health and the opportunities associated with remaining in Australia and noting the good work being done by Jones in Bendigo. 2 newspaper cuttings accompanied this letter: the Theology Honours list for 1886 and an undated list. The source of these is not noted.

Letter from J.P. Langley, St Philip's, Sydney

Discusses the possibility of obtaining catechists for 2 clergymen in the inner suburbs of Sydney. Suggests that Jones should try to persuade the Bishop of Melbourne to accept the Moore College certificate as sufficient preliminary to the Bishop's examination.
