Golden Grain Precious Promises box

Manufactured by Pickering and Inglis (London, Glasgow, Edinburgh). Assorted Bible verses, each printed on a small piece of paper and rolled in order to stand upright inside the box. Metal tweezers included to retrieve a rolled verse. Verses were selected at random, and the verse was supposed to be applicable to the reader's personal life. A version of popular Biblical divination common in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
