Andrews, Mary Maria

Minutes of the [Deaconess] House Committee

These are the copies of the minutes retained by Mary Andrews . They appear to supplement the official copies of the Minutes which are held by Anglican Deaconess Ministries but whose holdings appear to cease in 1943.
The business of the House Committee was to consider domestic staff and the business of daily management of the College. Including the acceptance of candidates, bursaries, syllabus and practical training, properties, building repairs and expansion
This set is fragmentary prior to 1964.

Deaconess House Board of Reference meetings

It was the role of the Board of Reference to consider applicants for entry to Deaconess House for Training and to determine who would be selected. The Board comprised the Principal, Chaplain for Deaconesses and between 4 and 6 lay and clerical members usually members of the Institute Board. The series contains details of the qualifications and parish work of the applicants.

Deaconess House Board of Studies meetings

The Board of Studies was formed by a resolution of the Management Committee of Deaconess House on 8 August 1974 . The purpose of the board was to prepare a submission for the Australian College of Theology for a Diploma of Ministry. The Board comprised Rev S. Giltrap (Chairman), Deaconesses M. Andrews, J. Lawrence and M. Rodgers, Mrs I. Hall and Rev. G. Glassock. The members met Dr D.B. Knox and Dr W. Dumbrell to discuss matters that arose in conjunction with Moore College. It appears that the role of the Board ceased after three meetings.
