Raffel, Kanishka

Kanishka Raffel graduated with a Bachelor of Divinity from Moore College in 1996. He served at St Matthew's Wanniassa from 1996-1999, and then moved to the Diocese of Perth where he served for 16 years (1999-2016) as Rector of St Matthew's Shenton Park. He obtained a Master of Arts in Theology from Moore College in 2010. Raffel was appointed Dean of St Andrew's Cathedral in 2016 and installed in that position on 4 February 2016. Powys, Harry Norman

H.N. Powys studied at Moore College from 1914-1916 and was ordained priest in 1917. He served as Rector in Picton, Penrith, Emu Plains, Annandale, Neutral Bay and Rose Bay/Vaucluse. From 1943-1948 he was the honorary clerical organising secretary at Moore College. From 1950-1957 he was Rural Dean of East Sydney. In 1951 he was appointed a Canon of St Andrew's Cathedral.

B. Ward Powers is a graduate of Moore College, and has served on the faculty of Moore College and Sydney Missionary and Bible College. He received a PhD from the University of London.

Noel Pollard was lecturer and librarian at Moore College. From 1967-1973 he was Master of New College at the University of New South Wales. He also served as the Sydney Diocesan Archivist.

Pilcher, Charles Venn

The Right Reverend Charles Venn Pilcher (b. 1879-d.1961), cleric, academic and author, was born and educated in England. In 1906 he left Canada where he lived and worked until 1936, eventually becoming Canon Precentor of Toronto (1931-1936). From 1931 until his death he lived and worked in Australia, in such positions as lecturer at Moore Theological College, 1936-1956, lecturer at Sydney University, 1938-1956, and as Bishop Coadjutor of Sydney, 1936-1960. He was a prolific author with a particular interest in the translation of Icelandic spiritual works. His translation was recognised by the Icelandic Government with the award of Knight Commander of The Icelandic Order of the Falcon in 1954.
