Municipality of Broughton's Vale

Originally part of the Gerringong Ward of the Municipality of Kiama. In 1948 it was merged with surrounding municipalities to form the Shoalhaven Shire Council. Some documents record the name as Broughton Vale. It is likely that the area was named after an Aboriginal guide named after the Bishop of Australia W.G. Broughton, by local pastoralist Alexander Berry.

Edge Hill is a district of Liverpool, England. Frederic Barker, later Bishop of Sydney, was the rector from 1835-1854.

National Council of Churches in Australia

The Australian Council of Churches was formed out of the Australian Committee of the World Council of Churches. In 1994 the name was changed to the National Council of Churches in Australia. Initially a Protestant body, the Eastern and Oriental Orthodox Churches joined in the 1960s, and the Catholic Church became a full member in 1994. There are currently 19 member churches, and the Council works with state ecumenical councils. http://www.ncca.org.au/

Sunday School Teachers' Association

The Most Rev. Wm. Saumarez Smith encouraged the Sunday School teachers of the diocese to form an association. The inaugural meeting of the SSTA was held on January 29 1909, at St Mark's, Granville, with the Rev. A.E.J. Ross acting as chairman. This was closely followed by the first SSTA Conference which was held on the February 17 1909, at St John's, Parramatta, presided over by the Ven. Archdeacon Gunther. The first committee consisted of the Rev. A.E.J. Ross, Mr W.P. Noller and G.H. Lewis, with Mr LC Colman as Hon. Secretary. The association gradually grew and from 1929 has been associated with the Diocesan Board of Education which assisted with teacher training and kindergarten instruction.

The IVF General Committee was the governing body of Inter Varsity Fellowship Australia. It was made up of the General Secretary, the Prayer Secretary, the Treasurer, Representative for Women Students, Missionary Secretary, four graduates and representatives from the Universities of Queensland, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Tasmania and Western Australia. The state representatives were the Presidents of the Union or Fellowship in that state.

Moore College was constituted as a corporate body on 13th March 1985. The Committee changed its name to the Moore College Council in October 1984. The Governing Board was set up by Ordinance on 4 October 2006.

IMPACT Books

IMPACT Books was established in order to provide student textbooks and general Christian literature for sale. The name was changed to Moore Books in 1999. In 2016 the Governing Board decided that the College would cease operating a bookshop.
