Established by Ordinance on 4th October 2006. In general terms, the management and control of the College is vested by the Synod of the Diocese of Sydney in the Moore Theological College Council. The Moore Theological College Council is incorporated under the Anglican Church Bodies Corporate Act 1938 and is constituted by the Moore Theological College Ordinance 2009. Under the Ordinance the Council is charged with the provision of training for ordination candidates and other church workers.

The affairs of the Moore Theological College Council are managed, governed and controlled by the Governing Board of the College.

Jensen, Peter F.

Peter Jensen was born in Sydney and completed the Licentiate of Theology at Moore College. He also has an MA from Sydney University, a Bachelor of Divinity from the University of London and in 1979 he completed a PhD from Oxford University. After his ordination in 1970 he served as curate at St Barnabas' Church, Broadway. From 1973-1976 and 1980-1984 he lectured at Moore College. He was Principal of the College from 1985-2001, when he was consecrated Archbishop of Sydney. He held this post until his retirement in 2013. He is the author of 'At the heart of the universe' (1991) and 'The revelation of God' (2002).

Royal Australian Historical Society

The inaugural meeting of the Australian Historical Society was held on March 15th 1901. The Australian Historical Society Journal and Proceedings was first published in 1906, and the use of the prefix 'Royal' was granted in 1918. They have been based in History House in Macquarie St Sydney since 1971. There have been Anglican clergy in Australia since the arrival of the First Fleet in 1788, and the continent was initially part of the Dicoese of Calcutta until the formation of the Diocese of Australia in 1836 under Bishop W.G. Broughton. The church was constituted as an autonomous body in 1962 when the Constitution of the Church of England in Australia was drawn up. The name was changed to 'Anglican Church of Australia' in 1981. The church meets nationally every three years at the General Synod, with representatives from all 23 dioceses.
