The Young Evangelical Churchman's League began in the 1930s with the aim of promoting reformed evangelical doctrine through meetings and literature. It ceased operating in the mid 1950s, before being re-constituted in 1964.

Diocese of Sydney Synod

The Synod of the Diocese of Sydney first met in 1866, and now meets annually. A new Synod must be elected every three years. Members of Synod include Parochial Ministers, Parochial Representatives, Chief Executive Officers of Nominated Organisations, Nominated Ministers, Nominated Laypersons and Nominated Indigenous Representatives.

The Diocesan Library was operated by the Diocese of Sydney. Much of the material was transferred to Moore College Library after its closure.

Anglican Counselling Centre

The Anglican Counselling Centre was constituted in 1963 and incorporated in 1990. The Centre had its origins as the Marriage Guidance Centre, a ministry of St Andrew's Cathedral. In 1963, a council was constituted by ordinance to carry out the work of the Centre. It was integrated with the Sydney Anglican Home Mission Society (now Anglicare) in 2000.

Prayer Book Society in Australia (NSW branch)

The Australian Branch was inaugurated on 1st March 1980. The Prayer Book Society in Australia was formed in 1983, with branches in NSW, South Australia and Victoria with Bishop Lionel Renfrey as patron, a sister society to those in England, Scotland, Canada, U.S.A and South Africa.

Inter Varsity Fellowship (Australia)

The Inter Varsity Fellowship in Australia formed in 1936 from a network of groups at universities around the country. They had begun to form as a result of Howard Guinness' Australian tours in 1930 and 1933-4. In 1947 the International Fellowship of Evangelical Students was founded, and in 1973 the Australian IVF changed its name to the Australian Fellowship of Evangelical Students. https://www.afes.org.au/about/history

Equal But Different

Equal But Different had its genesis in the 1992 debates about the ordination of women to the priesthood in the Anglican Church of Australia. The founding members of EBD were Patricia Judge, Lesley Hicks, Helen Jensen, Christine Jensen, Pru Selden, Karen Davidson and Marion Gabbott. Others who have been members of our steering group are Louisa Pfitzner, Di Warren, Emma Pfahlert, Tara Stenhouse and Emma Newling.
