Davies, David John

David John Davies was born in Oswestry, Wales and studied at Trinity College Cambridge, graduating in 1908 with an MA degree. He was ordained in 1906 and served as curate at Holy Trinity Cambridge. In 1911 he was appointed Principal of Moore College and held this position until his death in 1935. Davies, Glenn Naunton

Glenn was a school teacher prior to his theological study at Westminster Theological Seminary and Moore Theological College. After two years in parish ministry at St Stephen’s Willoughby, Glenn was invited to join the faculty of Moore College as a lecturer in Old Testament. At the end of 1985 he took a two-year study leave in England where he gained his PhD from Sheffield University. Glenn returned from overseas in 1988 to take up a position as a lecturer in New Testament. In the following year he also became the Registrar of the College, holding both positions until his resignation in 1995, when he was appointed as rector of St Luke’s Miranda. Glenn left Miranda after being consecrated bishop in December 2001. He was the Bishop of North Sydney for more than ten years, before being elected Archbishop of Sydney in 2013.

Davison, Herbert Henry

Herbert Henry Davison was ordained Deacon in 1938, and Priest in 1939. He was the Chaplain at Norfolk Island from 1939 to 1941; Curate-in-Charge in the Parochial District of Wilberforce from 1941; Rector of St. David's, Surry Hills, 1945-1952; Rector of Cabramatta-Canley Vale from 1952; Rector of Soldiers Memorial Church, Cabramatta from 1955; and Rural Dean of Liverpool from 1960-1966. Reverend Davison died in 1969.

Dent, Oswald Gordon

Following training at Moore College and ordination in 1908, the Rev. O. G. Dent went to England and studied at Durham University. During the war he was a chaplain with the 5th Division of the B.E.F. He was rector of St. Mary Magdalene from 1919 to 1927.

Dillon, Cecil William

Cecil Dillon was born in Kangaroo Valley, and studied at Moore College from 1924-1927, and was ordained in 1928. After serving as curate at Castle Hill, Hornsby and Strathfield, he became rector of St Andrew's Strathfield in 1933 and remained there until 1971, except for serving as an army chaplain from 1942-1946.

Dillon, Frederick Henry Barnier

F.H.B. Dillon studied at Moore College and graduated in 1924 with the Licenciate in Theology. He was ordained deacon in 1924 and priest in 1925. After working as curate at St Andrew's Summer Hill, he spent 2 years with the Bush Church Aid Society. From 1926-1928 he was priest-in-charge in Willochra, and in 1928 was deputationist for BCA. He worked in parish ministry in various Sydney parishes until 1946 when he moved to Adelaide to become rector of Holy Trinity Church, Adelaide. In 1952 he became rector of St Clement's Mosman, and retired in 1959 and died the same year. He married Doris Percival in 1928.

Dumbrell, William

William Dumbrell studied at Moore College and was ordained in 1957. He completed an MA at Sydney University, a BD and MTh at the University of London and the ThD at Harvard University in 1969. He has been a faculty member at Moore College, as well as Sydney and Macquarie Universities, Regent College and Emmaus Bible College.
