Francis James was a journalist and publisher. He served in World War 2 with the Royal Air Force, was shot down over France in 1942, and spent time in German POW camps. In 1945 he was invalided out of the RAF and married Joyce Staff. In 1950 he worked for the Sydney Morning Herald, before becoming managing director of 'The Anglican' newspaper in 1952. In 1957 James established the Anglican Press Ltd., which went into receivership in 1960 and was taken over by Australian Consolidated Press. In 1969 he travelled to China and was imprisoned for spying, remaining in prison until 1970 when he was released, thanks to lobbying by his friend Gough Whitlam, who was Australian Prime Minister at the time.

Peter Jensen was born in Sydney and completed the Licentiate of Theology at Moore College. He also has an MA from Sydney University, a Bachelor of Divinity from the University of London and in 1979 he completed a PhD from Oxford University. After his ordination in 1970 he served as curate at St Barnabas' Church, Broadway. From 1973-1976 and 1980-1984 he lectured at Moore College. He was Principal of the College from 1985-2001, when he was consecrated Archbishop of Sydney. He held this post until his retirement in 2013. He is the author of 'At the heart of the universe' (1991) and 'The revelation of God' (2002).

Phillip Jensen studied at Moore College from 1967-1970. He became Anglican chaplain to the University of NSW in 1975 and Rector of St Matthias' Centennial Park in 1978. From 1983-1991 he was Chairman of Katoomba Convention Council, then from 2003-2014 he was Dean of Sydney. He established the Ministry Training Strategy and Matthias Media. He currently works with Two Ways Ministries.

W.J. (Bill) Jobling studied at Sydney University and Moore College, and was ordained in 1964. After working at Cranbrook School, he gained a PhD from Sydney University and was appointed to their full time teaching staff. He researched and wrote extensively on Semitic and theological studies, and undertook archaeological expeditions to the Middle East.

The son of Samuel Martin Johnstone and his wife Elyne, J.R.L. Johnstone was born September 15th 1914 in Parramatta and baptised at St John's Cathedral. He was educated at the King's School, Moore Theological College and the University of Sydney, where he studied law. He was ordained in 1940 and served in the parishes of Pymble, Mosman, Carlingford and Beecroft. From 1942-1982 he was Rector of St John's Beecroft and Cheltenham. He was also visiting lecturer in church law at Moore College 1948-1964, as well as Canon of St Andrew's Cathderal from 1963.
