The Australian College of Theology was established in 1891 by the General Synod of the Church of England in Australia. The Australian College of Theology exists as a partnership between the Anglican Church of Australia and a confessionally diverse, national network of 17 Bible and theological colleges delivering the awards of the College on its behalf. This relationship is given expression in the ACT's Institutional Approval Procedures and a Memorandum of Understanding signed by each affiliated college and the Board of Directors, which is the governing body of the College. On 25 October 2007, the General Synod of the Anglican Church of Australia made the Australian College of Theology Canon 2007. The Schedule of this Canon was the Constitution of the Australian College of Theology Limited ('the College'), A Public Company Limited by Guarantee.
Today the College offers a wide range of accredited higher education awards catering not only for the specialised needs of ministerial and missionary candidates but also for the needs of lay people interested in an understanding of the Christian faith and its implications for contemporary life. There are 30 higher education awards and approximately 3,000 active students around the world.

The Council of Christians and Jews was first founded in Melbourne in 1985, then in Sydney in 1988. A national body was incorporated in 1991. Its aim is to promote interfaith dialogue between the Christian and Jewish communities in Australia.

When the Bible Society in Australia was incorporated in 1976, the former Commonwealth Council was reformed and renamed. It continued to be the main executive committee of the Society to which the Divisions and state departments reported.

The Australian Fellowship of Evangelical Students (A.F.E.S.) is a national body which coordinates the activities of Evangelical Unions and Christian Fellowships on Australian tertiary campuses. Initially constituted in 1936 as the Inter-Varsity Christian Fellowship of Australia, its name was changed to the Inter-Varsity Fellowship in 1939, and in 1973 to the A.F.E.S. The annual AFES national conference elects a General Committee which is the governing body of the AFES. In 1976 the General Committee authorised the establishment of AREA COMMITTEES in the major educational centres to extend and decentralise its functions whilst maintaining national commitments. The records include evangelical publications, reports and Committee Minutes.

The NSW Auxiliary of the British and Foreign Bible Society was formed in 1817. The first meeting was held on 7th March, making it the oldest continuously operating organization in Australia. The Tasmanian Auxiliary was formed in 1819, followed by the Victorian Auxiliary in 1840, the SA Auxiliary in 1845 and the Queensland Auxiliary in 1855. The state Auxiliaries jointly formed a Commonwealth Council in 1925, which met annually. The affairs of the British and Foreign Bible Society were carried out in Australia by powers of attorney. In 1976 a constitution was drawn up and 'The Bible Society in Australia' was incorporated, with the Commonwealth Council being renamed the Australian Council. The stated aim of the Society was 'to promote and encourage the wider circulation, distribution and use of the Holy Scriptures...without doctrinal note or comment throughout the world..." A National Youth Division, Translation Department and Mission Support Division carried out the work of the Society, with State Secretaries in charge of each state division. It became and continues to be a member of the United Bible Societies. In 2010 the state divisions were dissolved to form a national organization - Bible Society Australia. The Bible Society Australia group now includes Koorong, Eternity newspaper and the Centre for Public Christianity.

When the Bible Society in Australia incorporated in 1976, the NSW Auxiliary of the British and Foreign Bible Society became the NSW branch of the Bible Society in Australia. It was dissolved in 2010 when Bible Society Australia became a single national body.
