Christian Anti-Communism Crusade of Australia

The Christian Anti-Communism Crusade was founded in 1953 by Australian physician Dr Fred Schwarz (1913-2009). In the 1960s the headquarters was moved to Long Beach, California. in 1961 the Southern California School of Anti-Communism was held with 16,000 delegates. Dr Schwarz published a fortnightly newsletter and the book 'You can trust the Communists (to be Communist)'.

Vernon Turner started 'The Sunshine Hour' in 1951, a half hour community hymn singing program, syndicated across various radio stations. A committee was formed to handle correspondence and donations. In 1953, the Sunshine Hour Committee was replaced by the Christian Broadcasting Association (CBA). From the 1950s to the 1970s it was the major supplier of Christian radio programs to commercial stations. CBA was awarded a ‘Special Interest’ licence in 1978, and launched Australia's first Christian radio station, 2CBA-FM Stereo 103, on 5th March 1979. Christian Social Order Movement

Established in 1943 and operating until around 1951, the movement was chaired by the Bishop of Armidale J.S. Moyes, and was intended to supplement the Social Questions Committee of the General Synod. A monthly magazine The New Day was produced, featuring articles on various social issues.
