Established by Ordinance on 4th October 2006. In general terms, the management and control of the College is vested by the Synod of the Diocese of Sydney in the Moore Theological College Council. The Moore Theological College Council is incorporated under the Anglican Church Bodies Corporate Act 1938 and is constituted by the Moore Theological College Ordinance 2009. Under the Ordinance the Council is charged with the provision of training for ordination candidates and other church workers.

The affairs of the Moore Theological College Council are managed, governed and controlled by the Governing Board of the College.

The Diocesan Library was operated by the Diocese of Sydney. Much of the material was transferred to Moore College Library after its closure.

The inaugural meeting took place on 28th October at St Andrew's Cathedral Chapter House. Lady Hampden, the wife of the Governor, was the first President. On 16th November 1896, fifteen members were enrolled at a meeting at Government House. The first Annual General Meeting was held in 1898. It was incorporated in August 1996. The governing body of the branch is the Diocesan Council, with the working body the Executive Committee. Departments include Caritas, Deaneries, Education, Hospital visiting, Overseas and Northern Outreach, Prayer and Spirituality, Promotion and Development, Publication, Publicity and Social Responsibility. The Patron is and has been for many years the wife of the Archbishop of Sydney. Past patrons and presidents have been the wives of Governors of NSW.

The Council of Churches in NSW first met in 1924 as a group of representatives of major denominations: Church of England, Presbyterian, Methodist, Congregational, Baptist, Church of Christ, Society of Friends and Salvation Army. Their aim was to act in the interests of public morality and on behalf of the causes that are common to Christian churches. In 1932 they established the radio station 2CH. https://nswchs.com/
The Council was incorporated in 1998 to be the successor of the Council of Churches in NSW (an unincorporated association).

National Council of Churches in Australia

The Australian Council of Churches was formed out of the Australian Committee of the World Council of Churches. In 1994 the name was changed to the National Council of Churches in Australia. Initially a Protestant body, the Eastern and Oriental Orthodox Churches joined in the 1960s, and the Catholic Church became a full member in 1994. There are currently 19 member churches, and the Council works with state ecumenical councils. http://www.ncca.org.au/

St Andrew's Cathedral, Sydney

St Andrew's Cathedral is the cathedral church of the Anglican Diocese of Sydney, consecrated in 1868. It was designed by Edmund Blacket in the Gothic Revival style. St Andrew's Cathedral School was founded in 1885, and there is a choir of men and boys which sings at Sunday services and weekday evensong. There is also a healing service and Bible studies. The building has heritage listing with the National Trust of Australia.

St John's Church, Keiraville
