Ernest Cameron was born in Erskineville and attended St Andrew's Cathedral School and Moore College. He was ordained in 1920. From 1930-1937 he was Rector of St Peter's Hornsby, then St Luke's Mosman from 1937-1963. He was appointed honorary Canon of St Andrew's Cathedral in 1949.

Ian Burnard was born in Adelaide and graduated from the University of Adelaide in 1960 with a Bachelor of Science. He was President of the Adelaide University Evangelical Union from 1955-1956. From 1957 to 1976 he worked for Inter Varsity Fellowship, in several roles including General Secretary from 1962-1976. He then worked in the education sector and as a consultant to the NSW Police.
