Sophie Newton was born in 1867 and became a Deaconess in 1892. She worked in Foochow (Fuzhou) and surrounding regions in China as a missionary with the Church Missionary Society, experiencing the Boxer and Nationalist Rebellions. She trained Bible women and opposed the practices of foot binding and female infanticide. She also coordinated fundraising for various projects including the Hospital for the Jews in Jerusalem, translation and distribution of Hebrew scriptures and the sponsorship of a pupil in a school in Jerusalem. She is buried at St Thomas' Church, Enfield.

David John Davies was born in Oswestry, Wales and studied at Trinity College Cambridge, graduating in 1908 with an MA degree. He was ordained in 1906 and served as curate at Holy Trinity Cambridge. In 1911 he was appointed Principal of Moore College and held this position until his death in 1935. Lance Shilton was born in Elsternwick, Victoria in 1921 and was ordained priest in 1950. He was the incumbent at St Jude's Carlton from 1951-1954, then travelled to London to complete a Bachelor of Divinity at the University of London. From 1957 to 1973 he was Rector of Holy Trinity Church in Adelaide. He was then appointed Dean of Sydney, a post which he held until 1988. He was actively interested in social issues, and wrote numerous newspaper columns and radio broadcasts. He helped to establish the Festival of Light organisation in 1972, now known as Family Voice Australia. In 1985 he was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia.

Herbert John Rose was born in Hertford, England and educated at King's College, University of London. He was ordained in 1882, and in 1884 accompanied Bishop Alfred Barry to Australia to serve as Rector of Christ Church North Sydney until 1885. During 1885 he served as the Protestant chaplain to the New South Wales contingent to Sudan, and subsequently appointed honorary chaplain to the NSW Volunteer Forces. He also served as chaplain during the Boer War. From 1885 until his death he was rector of St Anne's Strathfield. He married Harriet Priddle in 1887 and they had three sons and one daughter.

Bruce Reed was born in Melbourne and trained as an architect before studying at Moore College. He married Mary Robinson in 1948. In 1957 he set up the Christian Teamwork Trust in Britain, which became the Grubb Institute of Behavioral Studies in 1969. He worked as an organisational analyst consultant for large corporations as well as both the Anglican and Roman Catholic Churches. In 1978 he published The Dynamics of Religion. After Mary's death in 2003, he married his colleague Jean Hutton and then died the same year.

Mary Bradley Robinson married Bruce Reed in 1948 and lived in Britain until her death in 2003. They had no children.

Gordon Bruce Gerber studied at Moore Theological College and graduated with the Licentiate in Theology in 1943. He was ordained priest on 21st December 1943 and worked at St Clement's Marrickville and St John's Sutherland.

William Griffith was born in England. He taught at the King’s School in Parramatta and then set up his own portrait studio at the Australian Arms Inn. He also created portraits of Richard and Elizabeth Rouse and the Supreme Court judge Sir William Westbrook Burton, as well as several landscapes. His business declined when daguerreotype portraits became popular, and many of his works were destroyed in a fire in 1854.
