The foundation stone of St Philip’s Caringbah was laid on 2nd July 1927, although services had been held in the Burns Hall since October 1924. The first Rector, Rev. Arthur Reeves, was appointed in 1933. As the church grew, so did various groups including the Mothers’ Union, Women’s Guild, GFS and CEBS. Caringbah became a provisional district in February 1957. A new church building, the War Memorial Church of St Philip, was opened by Archbishop Gough on 24th June 1961. On 8th August 1961 the church was granted a rise in status to that of Parish, without the intervening stage of Provisional Parish. A parish hall was constructed for the congregation at Taren Point in 1965. The Philippian parish paper was issued from 1967-1970, then re-introduced in 1977.

The purpose of the students' union was to promote the interests and activities of the students, in accordance with the evangelical tradition of the college. The Union was also initially responsible for producing the annual magazine Societas.

The Most Rev. Wm. Saumarez Smith encouraged the Sunday School teachers of the diocese to form an association. The inaugural meeting of the SSTA was held on January 29 1909, at St Mark's, Granville, with the Rev. A.E.J. Ross acting as chairman. This was closely followed by the first SSTA Conference which was held on the February 17 1909, at St John's, Parramatta, presided over by the Ven. Archdeacon Gunther. The first committee consisted of the Rev. A.E.J. Ross, Mr W.P. Noller and G.H. Lewis, with Mr LC Colman as Hon. Secretary. The association gradually grew and from 1929 has been associated with the Diocesan Board of Education which assisted with teacher training and kindergarten instruction.

The Sydney College of Divinity is a consortium of theological colleges. It was formed in 1983 with six member institutions, when the Bachelor of Theology course was accredited. The SCD was approved by the Commonwealth Government as a higher education provider in 2004.

Originally formed soon after Australia became a separate Diocese in 1836, this Society is the Church of England's oldest in Australia. Following a programme supporting Christian education, literature and scholarship, the Society was initially a joint committee [The Australian Diocesan Committee of The Societies For Promoting Christian Knowledge and For Propagating the Bible in Foreign Parts] and received a substantial bequest from Mr. Thomas Moore of Liverpool. In 1868 the Society's rules and regulations were adopted by Resolution of Synod and the Society re-named The Sydney Diocesan Education and Book Society in connection with the Societies for Promoting Christian Knowledge and for The Propagation of The Gospel in Foreign Parts. In 1918 its name was shortened to The Sydney Diocesan Education and Book Society. In 1986 the Society became a Committee of The Standing Committee for the Sydney Diocese. The records are unprocessed, but most are arranged in subject folders, and include minutes, financial statements and correspondence. Minute Books prior to 1953 are held by the Mitchell Library.
