Petition for a sum from the Colonial Funds for 'the enlargening of the church by the erection of a chancel'

Photocopied articles relating to Rev Samuel Newth (1821-1898), who was involved in the translation of the Revised Standard Bible; photocopied typescript and manuscript notes by M.C. Newth with biographical information on Samuel Newth; correspondence relating to the donation of this series and the annotated Greek New Testament (S 141 in the Rare Books collection).

This collection relates to the history of the Church of England in South Africa, and consists of photocopies of correspondence, minutes and reports, publications and newspaper articles. It was collected by Peter James Spartalis for his MTh thesis “From Silvertrees to Lambeth: The Australian connection and the Church of England in South Africa 1933-1948” awarded by the Australian College of Theology in 1990. A copy of the thesis is available for in-library use only in the Moore College Library.

Contains black and white prints of Ernest Cameron with Archbishop Mowll, the procession through Sydney to welcome the Archbishop of Canterbury Geoffrey Fisher, meetings of the Mothers' Union at Gilbulla Conference Centre and various Sydney clergymen.

R.B. Robinson travelled to Ceylon/Sri Lanka, Bombay/Mumbai and Port Said in 1928. He photographed the buildings, scenery and local people.
