George Carrie Glanville graduated from Moore Theological College in 1902, was ordained Deacon in 1902 and Priest in 1903. He graduated from the University of London with a Bachelor of Divinity in 1910 and Honours in 1911. After ministries in suburban Sydney, he was the Examining Chaplain of the Archbishopric of Sydney, 1926-1934, and the Vice-Principal of Moore Theological College from 1922-1934. The papers relate to his academic activities.

Percy Walter Gledhill, church and local historian, was a foundation member of the Church of England Historical Society and the Society of Australian Genealogists. His publications document the histories of several Sydney churches.

Godden, Charles Christopher

C.C. Godden was born in Victoria and studied under Nathaniel Jones at Perry Hall, Bendigo and then at Moore College, Sydney. He was ordained in 1900 and worked as curate at St Michael's Surry Hills. He then travelled to Norfolk Island for training at the Melanesian Mission, before going to Omba/Ambae, Vanuatu as a missionary in 1901. He married Eva Dearin while on leave in Sydney in 1905 and they returned to Vanuatu in 1906. He was murdered by a local man, Alamemea, who had been pressed into working on the Queensland cane fields and bore a grudge against white man for the treatment he had received in prison for attempted murder. His daughter Ruth was born in 1907. Godden is remembered as a martyr.

Dr Ruth Godden is the daughter of Charles and Eva Godden, born the year after Charles was murdered in Vanuatu. She is the author of 'Lolowai: the story of Charles Godden and the western Pacific' (1967).

Goodhew, Richard Henry

Goodhew was born in Sydney and educated at the University of Wollongong. He was ordained in 1958 and began his ministry with curacies at St Matthew's Bondi and St Bede's Beverly Hills. Later he held incumbencies at St Paul's Carlingford and St Stephen's, Coorparoo. In 1976 he was appointed a canon of St Michael's Cathedral, Wollongong and in 1979 Archdeacon of Wollongong. He was Bishop of Wollongong from 1982 to 1993. In 1993 he was elected Archbishop of Sydney and the Metropolitan of New South Wales, retiring in 2001. Cecil Green was born in Christchurch, NZ, and became a carpenter. He enlisted in 1915 at the age of 27, and served in the 8th Training Battalion. He returned to Australia after the war and lived in Croydon.
