David John Davies was born in Oswestry, Wales and studied at Trinity College Cambridge, graduating in 1908 with an MA degree. He was ordained in 1906 and served as curate at Holy Trinity Cambridge. In 1911 he was appointed Principal of Moore College and held this position until his death in 1935. Glenn was a school teacher prior to his theological study at Westminster Theological Seminary and Moore Theological College. After two years in parish ministry at St Stephen’s Willoughby, Glenn was invited to join the faculty of Moore College as a lecturer in Old Testament. At the end of 1985 he took a two-year study leave in England where he gained his PhD from Sheffield University. Glenn returned from overseas in 1988 to take up a position as a lecturer in New Testament. In the following year he also became the Registrar of the College, holding both positions until his resignation in 1995, when he was appointed as rector of St Luke’s Miranda. Glenn left Miranda after being consecrated bishop in December 2001. He was the Bishop of North Sydney for more than ten years, before being elected Archbishop of Sydney in 2013.

Herbert Henry Davison was ordained Deacon in 1938, and Priest in 1939. He was the Chaplain at Norfolk Island from 1939 to 1941; Curate-in-Charge in the Parochial District of Wilberforce from 1941; Rector of St. David's, Surry Hills, 1945-1952; Rector of Cabramatta-Canley Vale from 1952; Rector of Soldiers Memorial Church, Cabramatta from 1955; and Rural Dean of Liverpool from 1960-1966. Reverend Davison died in 1969.

Incorporated as Anglican Deaconess Institution Limited (ADSIL) in 1996, the Institution adopted a CEO and a more corporate and independent constitution in 2008, and was renamed Anglican Deaconess Ministries Limited in 2011

Following training at Moore College and ordination in 1908, the Rev. O. G. Dent went to England and studied at Durham University. During the war he was a chaplain with the 5th Division of the B.E.F. He was rector of St. Mary Magdalene from 1919 to 1927.
